The 1942 catalogue for printers' inks manufacturer, Ault & Wiborg, includes a suite of whimsical illustrative musings under the heading, "An Eye to the Future." Here we are treated to (among others) a flashy villa with geometric components, a boxy subway for a staid Toronto, and "Surface Transportation," where a couple parked at a service station, in their almost totally glass-fronted car, are served a meal by a Betty Grable-like car hop. Each print is unsigned, measures 12 1/2" x 9 1/4", and is in excellent condition.
